This new nitrocellulose is plasticizer-free. Its an accurate recreation of the nitrocellulose used by Fender and Gibson throughout the 60s. The plasticizer-free formulation increases the rigidity; using it as a clear topcoat will easily give a more natural and vintage look because its less elastic.
The main advantage compared to the different nitrocellulose varnishes is the speed of evaporation and melting between coats, allowing a more noticeable gloss effect, a thinner coat and possibly a greater vibration of the wood.
Being a nitro with less elasticity and faster aging, as time goes by some fine breaks will begin to appear, although they will be much less pronounced than those of the relic gloss clear lacquer.
